A Rugged Handheld PC
Wouldn't it be great if you could just carry your computer around with you all day while you work? You could be in touch with the world at a moment's notice. You could access files while talking on your cell phone, annoying all the other passengers on the metro. Better yet, you could access files and talk on your cell phone while you drive.
It's all possible with the Dolphin 7600 Hand Held Mobile Computer. Its name is larger than the actual device. The Dolphin is kind of like an industrial-grade mobile computer, except it's both smaller and cheaper.
Cheap is good.
It also has a finger saddle. A finger saddle is good. It also has an angled image engine. I don't know what that is, but it's probably good, too.
Since you're going to be carrying it with you heaven knows where, the Dophin is made for abuse. Well, some abuse anyway. The website says it's good for 'light industrial applications', which probably means that if you take it onto a construction site and a brick lands on it, that would probably be a bad thing.
The Dolphin is ergonomically designed, too, so it shouldn't make your fingers fall off or anything. It "powers an entire shift of use". This seems to suggest that you can use it for eight hours without charging it, or else that it has a battery that lasts eight hours, or else that you'll have to carry around a lot of batteries and change them out every so often. At any rate, 'it powers an entire shift of use'.
The best part, though, is the Dolphin's ability to partake in wireless local area networking (WLAN). Wireless networking is THE best thing since the wheel and sliced bread combined.
