Check Out The RIM BlackBerry Pearl
Are you ready for a BlackBerry? On cnet reviews, RIM BlackBerry Pearl got a rating of 7.3 out of 10, which is a 'Good'.
The reviewers name Bluetooth, EDGE support, and great e-mail capabilities among the BlackBerry Pearl's assets. They also mention a 1.3-megapixel camera, music and video playback, a mapping application, and expandable memory. The cool thing is that these features have not been seen on a BlackBerry before.
There are different versions with the Cingular/AT&T BlackBerry Pearl offering functions that the T-Mobile version does not - namely, push-to-talk and location-based services.
The reviewers didn't like the location of the microSD slot, which is behind the battery, and they found the call quality left a bit to be desired. Reviewers also wished for external music controls and integrated Wi-Fi.
If you're looking for a sexy phone (and who isn't!), reviewers say the RIM BlackBerry Pearl is where style is at. This phone is, in fact, so sexy that you should just take it to the clubs, set it on the bar, and tell it to order a drink. It will conduct your pick-ups for you. That's how sexy it is, according to reviewers.
The phone is named for the trackball, which resembles a pearl.
It also looks more like an actual phone and less like a kid's video game. If you ask me, I think the reviewers are wrong about the sexy thing. It's less geeky, but sexy it ain't. Technogeeks will say anything to push their pet products.
That doesn't mean it's not cool. Plenty of things are cool and aren't sexy. The Simpsons, for instance and that guy on CSI that everybody claims is sexy but who really isn't. He just makes cool jokes about the cases he works on. He's kind of like a BlackBerry that way.
