Computer Tools for the Cellular Phone
Everybody fears it. Absolutely everyone either has broken or will break their cell phone at some point or another, and then deal with the agony of losing all of the stored phone numbers, pictures, addresses, and date book. You look down at the technicolor display of a broken crystal screen, and your brain blanks out on even your own phone number, much less everyone else's that you had stored in there. You can still power it on, but you might as well use it for a colorful hockey puck for all the good it is.
Avanquest, a progressive and thoughtful software company, has come up with a solution. They have an entire range of software that will let your computer yank the information from your phone as long as both can be turned on and they have USB ports to connect to. I finally broke my poor abused Motorola RAZR not too long ago, and I completely freaked out because I couldn't call anyone, and I was dumb enough to not write any of the information stored in there down. I also freaked because I was dumb enough to try carrying my phone along with eight grocery bags over a concrete driveway, but who hasn't done something like that?
After two days of weeping, I thought to try to hook my phone into my computer. It was then that I found that I needed hardware drivers, and Avanquest is where I found them. Now, I hook my phone in, open the phone tools program, and take pictures, numbers, and contact info at will into my computer hard drive instead of having to pay expensive text message bills, and I rescued all of my info off of my broken phone and loaded it to my new one. Who could ask for more? Well, an unbreakable cell phone with free unlimited anytime minutes would be better, but until then, these programs rock.
