Not Quite Sims, But Cute
They're stick people. They live in cubes. They want to be your friends.
Actually, they may not really want to be your friends, but since they can't actually get away from you, and you've bought them, they really don't have a choice but to interact with you.
Yep, interact. The little blurb on the site actually says you get to pester them, so that's kind of cool. Work out those impulses that makes you want to pull people's hair and throw popcorn kernels in a crowded movie theater without worrying about some 7-foot guy wanting to 'talk' about it outside.
They come as a set, so you get both Scoop orange and Slim purple-that-actually-looks-like-pink. There are games. There are buttons. There may actually be a dog in there somewhere too. You can play with only one or you can let them interact with each other.
The entire toy is called Radica Cube World - Scoop/Slim. And why isn't it called simply Radica Cube World, you ask? Because it isn't the only one! (Isn't that exciting? Cube Worlds all over the place.)
You can also get Radica Cube World - Dodger/Whip, which are red and yellow, respectively. (The cubes, not the people.) Dodger has a ball. Or what looks like a ball. Could be a bomb. The other guy has what looks like a jump rope, but is probably a whip. Maybe he's an Indiana Jones-style treasure-hunter. Maybe you shouldn't annoy that guy too much.
There are optional sound effects and different games you can play. Each cube requires two lithium batteries. (Maybe the little guys are manic depressive.) They are for ages eight years old and up.
Wonder what would happen if you got all four of them and set them all side-by-side? That would be an experiment worth doing.
